Habitat 17: CHPC and Eastman Partnership with the Greg Hall FamilyThis house was dedicated to the glory of God and the use of the Greg Hall Family on November 10, 2008. Habitat 17 is complete. The Hall family has moved into their new home. We thank all who prayed, contributed materials and services, and worked at the site or behind the scenes.

November 07 Finished and Ready for Dedication! "Hands for Habitat" - Habitat 17
The Hall family's house on Mary Steet is finished! Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the management of hundreds of details by our leaders, the house is ready for Dedication on Sunday at 3:00 PM and for Greg, Patti, and the girls to move in on Monday. I call that just in time delivery!
I invite you to come for the Dedication Program and a tour of the house on Sunday. Come and celebrate what God has done through the hands of hundreds of people.
Parking is limited on Mary Street. We have arranged for CHPC's bus and van to bring people to 109 Mary Street. You may ride, first come, first served. The bus and van, if both are needed, will leave promptly at 2:15PM from the CHPC parking lot. You will be delivered back to CHPC following the Dedication Program.
For those who drive, please park at Fort Robinson Baptist Church. This church is 3-4 blocks from the house. You may walk or ride the CHPC bus which will unload passengers at 109 Mary Street and shuttle back to FRBC to pick up passengers at about 2:45 PM. So, if you do not want to walk from FRBC to the house just wait in the parking lot until the bus comes for you.
We hope to see you at the Dedication! October 28 Construction is on schedule!Volunteers will return to the site beginning on Friday, October 31 for painting, landscaping, and other work as the project drives toward completion. A small crew is being assembled to do some post-drywall cleanup on Thursday afternoon, the 30th. Call Ed Stanford at 239-5599 if you'd like to help that afternoon.
The dedication ceremony is scheduled for November 9 at 3:00 PM. Join us at 109 Mary Street as we honor Chuck Smith and present the Hall family with the keys to their new home. October 12 Day 2 of the BlitzWe had an excellent crew of about 20 people on Saturday. We are officially in the "dry" with temporary (tar paper) roof in place over the house with exception of the front porch. The electrial crew continued with their work. We ate well on lunch from the Fire House Restaurant donated by Elaine Zoeller and delivered by Kathy McDavid.
The house is taking shape and home owner Greg Hall said that he can hardly believe that it is real. Our site supervisors and crew chiefs are pleased with the progress. Today we worship and rest. Monday we will finish the front porch roof, and frame up the internal walls. Come join us. Oyee! October 10 Starting the BlitzWow, what a day! The Lord provided us with beautiful weather, great leaders, inspired workers, and much to do. Greg and Patti were there to participate in building their new home. Tom Phillips started us off with a good devotional that made us realize that there was no better place for us to be than 109 Mary Street building a Habitat house. Chuck, Ed, and our great crew chiefs showed us what needed to be done and our volunteers responded. I did not get a final count but we must have had about 25 hard working carpenters!
Eastman held a brief news conference led by Etta Clark. Etta thanked the many organizations which have made contributions to our project and recognized our good friend Chuck Smith and his many contributions to Habitat. The Kingsport Times News featured a nice article and video on this miracle on Mary Street. Go to http://www.timesnews.net/. We think the article will appear in Saturday's Times News.
Later in the day, Morgan King and Amy Lynn, from WJHL TV's "Daytime Tri-Cities" decided we were "the" story to do today. They came by and hammed it up with us for a while. Look for the program to air sometime next week. They promise to be back later in our build to provide their watchers more information about Habitat. Check them out at http://www.tricities.com/tri/news/local/article/tour_day_tri_cities_planned_for_local_show_launch/11711/
You would not think with all of the extraciricular acivities that we had enough time to actually work on the house but somehow we made real progress! At the end of the day the walls were raised and the roof trusses were in place. We are looking forward to another great day tomorrow. Come on out and see us. We will be "Hands for Habitat" at 109 Mary Street.
